Chromatografting : a new green chemistry process
The core of BT3 technological offer is based on a new chemical process, chromatografting.
The control of vapor pressure (continuous passage of molecules from a gaseous form to a liquid one) makes it possible to deposit on the surface of paper, at a very high speed, an extremely thin (nanometric scale) layer of molecules of plant origin (fatty acids) and to trigger off a reaction so as to render paper hydrophobic.
With a previous treating of cellulose using PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), a well-known industrial technique, we can also obtain very high levels of barriers to gases and fats.
